What is the Centre des monuments nationaux?
The Centre des Monuments Nationaux is a public institution under the aegis of the French Ministry of Culture. Its mission is to conserve, manage and open up to visitors some one hundred monuments throughout France.
The strength of the Centre des Monuments Nationaux network lies in its ability to centralize the resources of monuments: those that generate the most revenue finance monuments with less activity. This principle makes it possible to open up and preserve heritage sites throughout France.
